Join our mission as a Senior Software Engineer on our R&D Instrument Platforms organization to support software development with a strong emphasis on building, configuring, and maintaining Unix-like operating systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who can work hands-on with system-level software and build tooling while delivering reliable, testable code in a structured engineering process. This position is responsible for developing software and supporting software development processes and tools. This includes, but is not limited to, requirements development, design, build, implementation, and testing. This role is based at our beautiful waterfront campus with walking trail, fitness center, and full-service onsite cafeteria in the Rochester, NY region. The Work Environment No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. The Physical Demands Most of the work is to be performed in an office-type open space environment using laptop computers and accessories (sitting or standing). Occasional lifting/carrying of computers and accessories or similar items. Salary Transparency The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 and is bonus eligible.
