Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Data Engineer/ Sr. Data Engineer to join the IT Data & Analytics Packaging & Cellulose Delivery Team, supporting the Corrugated business within GP's Packaging & Cellulose segment. A Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines, architecture, and systems that enable the collection, transformation, and analysis of manufacturing data. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, domain knowledge, and leadership skills to ensure data availability, integrity, and usability for business intelligence applications.

Our Team

Our Team IT Data & Analytics P&C Delivery Team is focused on designing, building, and maintaining solutions that meet the Data and Analytics needs of Georgia-Pacific. This individual will support the Corrugated business within GP's Packaging & Cellulose segment. Our global team collaborates with GP IT, Koch Technology Center (KTC), and works closely with our business partners to deliver solutions that enable timely, data-driven decision making.

Location: Atlanta, GA, hybrid-onsite, three days per week.

What You Will Do

  • Develop business intelligence and data warehousing solutions to meet business needs
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot existing ETL jobs and Power BI Reports
  • Troubleshoot, fix and explain failures/errors in data/ETL
  • Adopting best practices in the implementation and execution of support processes
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting existing BI Models to ensure continuous operation
  • Collaborating with various IT teams such as infrastructure support, networking, database administrators, delivery and platforms team
  • Participates in scheduled Agile Ceremonies

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience collaborating across teams, mentoring and motivating others while influencing alignment and strong practices
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining large-scale ETL and data engineering solutions
  • Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration and monitoring
  • Experience in BI & Semantic Layer Development and Reporting & Visualization
  • Experience in Data Warehousing and Dimensional data modeling
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field
  • Experience in the manufacturing domain, particularly with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Experience with the MSBI stack: SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and/or PowerBi
  • Experience with AWS data engineering services such as S3, Glue, Lamda, Step Functions, Redshift and IAM
  • Experience with AI and automation tools such as Cursor, Power Automate, Windsurf and Github CoPilot
  • Experience in dimensional data modeling, SQL and Python
