Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The program coordinator for the Youth Entrepreneurship Program ( YEP) is responsible for promotion of the YEP program via web site, email outreach and onsite visits around the New Hanover Country region. The goal is to attract students interested in Entrepreneurship and offer them a "college experience" on campus - through learning, tours, and utilization of campus resources. Once applications are submitted , they must be vetted for completion, age compliance, health and dietary concerns. Vetted and accepted applications are recorded and reported to the Protection of Minors and the University for data collection. These functions are the responsibility of the program coordinator.
The Program Coordinator communicates with parents or guardians of YEP students/campers about acceptance, permissions for picture taking, parking, health concerns, or general program questions throughout the process.
The program coordinator sets up the class room locations, and use of computers, use of golf carts or other accommodations for students, attains the dining permissions on campus, and works with various sources on campus such as the library to share their knowledge and resources with the YEP group. The coordinator also works with the program leader to attain and vet guest speakers and attains the required supplies for the program.
The program coordinator attends the program on the first day to meet parents, open the event on behalf of Cameron School and remain "on call" for the program term The program leader for the Youth Entrepreneurship Program ( YEP) is responsible for. The program coordinator also creates the judging panel for the business plan competition and usually serves as a judge.
