Overview

What You'll Do

    Troubleshoot, calibrate, install, and commission instrumentation and automation systems at customer sites
  • Diagnose instrumentation functionality and I/O operation; repair using a variety of meters and calibration tools
  • Set up new instrumentation and calibrate to specifications using schematics and drawings
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on test apparatus and peripheral equipment
  • Work alongside engineers to test and commission PLC systems, including program logic validation and start-up troubleshooting
  • Program PLCs and HMIs; identify parts and components for system integration projects
  • Develop and assemble project documentation and user manuals

What You'll Bring

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as an instrumentation or controls technician
  • Solid understanding of AC and DC drives and speed feedback devices
  • Working knowledge of temperature control components and PID/control loop theory
  • Proficiency with PLC and HMI systems, including program navigation, controlled manipulation, and communications drivers
  • Strong grasp of Ethernet communications and industrial network connections
  • Ability to diagnose defective components, motors, drives, and electronic devices using diagnostic equipment
  • Comfortable reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings

Schedule & Compensation

  • $40-$45/hr based on experience ($104K-$117K annually at 50 hrs/week)
  • Consistent 50-hour work week - predictable income without depending on variable overtime
  • Travel to customer sites as required; mileage and expenses covered
