Job Summary Monitors and maintains athletic equipment to ensure adequate supply, functionality and working condition. Performs research to obtain vendor and product information, pricing and availability, and completes the purchasing process. Prepares, audits and maintains inventory records and related reports. Monitors repair needs; performs equipment maintenance and repair, or schedules external resources for more complex repair work. Assists with ensuring students and programs comply with NJCAA, MCCCD, Region I and ACCAC regulations, policies and procedures. Plans, coordinates, schedules, game day staff such as announcers, clock operators, ball shaggers, game scorebook, line judges, shot clock operators, statisticians, softball and baseball bat testers, etc. Coordinates and completes the processing of athletic events game management Invoices. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in the purchasing, maintenance and use of athletic equipment. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Desired Qualifications A. Experience working with vendors to facilitates the purchase of equipment, apparel and uniforms for athletic programs. B. Experience in maintaining an inventory of equipment, apparel and uniforms for athletic programs. C. Experience working with heat presses for the embellishments of logos on apparel and game uniforms. D. Experience in the monitoring and repairing of athletic equipment and other related athletic items. E. Experience in scheduling external resources for more complex athletic related repair work F. Experience in planning and coordinating of game day staff such as announcers, clock operators, ball shaggers, game scorebook, line judges, shot clock operators, statisticians, softball and baseball bat testing process, etc. for athletic events. G. Experience in assisting in the research of information required for larger athletic equipment purchases ex: electronic scoreboards, athletic carts, scoring tables, athletic windscreen, etc. H. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years. Special Working Conditions This position typically require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Working Conditions: Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure to atmospheric conditions (such as fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, etc.); moderate exposure to hazardous materials (such as chemicals, blood or other body fluids); and moderate exposure to extreme temperatures or travel.
