ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is responsible for leading a general labor crew while supporting daily production activities in a hands-on construction environment. The role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to blueprint specifications while coordinating with leadership to meet production schedules. It also plays a key part in mentoring team members, resolving issues, and supporting continuous improvement on the production floor.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Provide hands-on leadership of general labor crews (up to 10 employees), including coordinating, directing work, promoting teamwork, maintaining a positive culture, and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Organize and coordinate daily production by reviewing blueprints, material orders, and job requirements to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Communicate with Foreman and leadership to ensure production schedules are met and operational issues are resolved promptly.
  • Mentor and train general laborers by providing guidance on SOPs, performance standards, safety practices, and skill development.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support problem-solving to maintain workflow and efficiency.
  • Provide basic conflict resolution and escalate issues to Foreman or Business Unit Leader as needed.
  • Provide constructive feedback to leadership regarding employee performance, production challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform production duties including stripping forms, cleaning forms, setting forms, and installing rebar, mesh, imbeds, and side rails.
  • Operate equipment including machinery, overhead cranes, forklifts, trucks, trailers, tractors, and Tucker as required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE



  • Ability to read a tape measure and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Reliable attendance with ability to report to work on time daily.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions, guidelines, and procedures accurately and consistently.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
