Position Purpose


This position is responsible for the complete coordination of patient interactions required of patients enrolled and follow patients in research protocols. These coordinating activities are defined by the various research agencies and study protocols. This position is also responsible for facilitating the accrual of patients onto protocols in collaboration with the research team and investigators.



Nature and Scope


This position, which functions independently, is challenged to maintain research protocols with an extremely high degree of accuracy. While the incumbent must be highly organized and tolerant of isolation, this person must also have superb interpersonal skills to negotiate with physicians and staff to enroll patients and to comply with protocol rules and regulations.

The incumbent must demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the adult and geriatric patient population served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards.

4. Ability to interact effectively with persons of differing socioeconomic backgrounds.

5. Highly organized and ability to function independently.

6. Flexible schedule required and ability to travel on occasion to collaborating physician offices to meet with providers, staff and patients where they are receiving care.

Minimum Qualifications

Name Description

Education:



Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. BSN preferred.



Experience:



Two (2) years of recent clinical nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, research center, or similar health care setting (Bachelor's degree may be substituted for one (1) year work experience). Previous experience in research protocols preferred.



License(s):



Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.



Certification(s):



BLS certification by American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.

Human Subject Protection Certificate required within 90 days of hire.

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training Certificate required within 90 days of hire.

International Air Transport Association (IATA) certification required within 90 days of hire.

CCRP and/or CCRC preferred



Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
