What to Expect
The Supply Chain Analytics team, part of the Material Planning & Logistics organization, provides dedicated analytical support to operational teams across Tesla's supply chain - driving process improvements and strategic decision-making through data.
In this role, you will serve as the primary Data Engineer supporting Tesla's Inbound Logistics organization across NA and EMEA. You will be the go-to expert for logistics data infrastructure, carrier performance KPIs, and cost-savings initiatives - owning each initiative end-to-end from scoping and stakeholder alignment through implementation and impact tracking. You will own end-to-end data pipelines that drive accountability with carriers and unlock cost-savings opportunities. Working closely with logistics operations, TMS, IT, and regional leadership, you will leverage the standards, tools, and expertise of the central Analytics team. The ideal candidate is a curious and driven engineer who excels at building scalable data pipelines, managing initiatives end-to-end, partnering with operations, and solving complex logistics problems with data.

What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain core inbound-logistics ETL pipelines
  • Develop and own global Carrier KPI frameworks, dashboards, and automated reporting
  • Partner cross-functionally with logistics operations, IT, and regional leadership to align on KPI definitions and roll out new metrics
  • Lead cost-savings initiatives end-to-end across logistics areas - from scoping and business case, through stakeholder alignment, implementation, and post-launch impact tracking
  • Develop optimization tools and analytics to reduce logistics cost
  • Build automated alerts and exception reports to support operational excellence. Investigate data-quality issues across logistics tables and deploy fixes end-to-end
  • Support leadership with ad-hoc analyses, roadmap documentation, and progress summaries on cost-savings initiatives

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Economics) or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability, with 2+ years of work experience in supply-chain analytics, logistics analytics, data engineering, or a related role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cost-savings initiatives end-to-end - scoping, stakeholder alignment, execution, and impact tracking - with strong project-management skills
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience optimizing queries on large-scale data warehouses
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating production data pipelines (Airflow DAGs, scheduled ETL jobs) with strong attention to data quality and observability
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and analysis. Experience building dashboards (Tableau, Streamlit, or similar) for operational stakeholders
  • A structured, data-driven, and quantitative approach to problem-solving - able to root-cause logistics data issues and translate findings into pipeline or business changes
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with operations, IT, and regional stakeholders (NA, EMEA) to align on KPI definitions and drive adoption
  • Familiarity with the inbound logistics domain is highly preferred. Familiarity with AI tools and AI-assisted development for data processing and automation is a plus
