The Legal Group protects us against risks and provides the framework for our ethical and compliant global business practices, enabling Lam to effectively navigate the landscape of the semiconductor industry. Their global government affairs team is responsible for advocating on behalf of Lam with public policymakers.

• Provides assistance in the continued development and implementation of intellectual property protection strategies, including patents, copyrights, and trademarks.
• Initiates and interprets intellectual property searches and related data; prepares analyses of results related to infringement, validity, and competitiveness.
• Coordinates the drafting, filing, and prosecution of intellectual property protection applications and maintains all related documentation.
• Assists internal or external counsel with appeal and interference proceedings.

As an Intellectual Property Agent 4, this is an advanced career level where a senior professional typically stabilizes. The role requires minimal direction and leverages deep knowledge and experience to contribute in complex and/or critical environments. With wideranging experience, the individual applies professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

Responsibilities

• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an indepth evaluation of variable factors.
• Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
• Networks with key contacts outside their own area of expertise.
• Takes initiative to recognize obstacles and develop solutions.
• Determines methods and procedures for new assignments and may coordinate the activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
• Identifies and pursues opportunities for innovation within the discipline or business area.
• Provides informal guidance to less experienced colleagues.

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
