| Essential Job Duties |
We are seeking a highly motivated seasonal lab supervisor to oversee lab technicians and the completion of black bear hair extractions. The position is May to August (~16-weeks) with some flexibility.
Primary duties:
- Overseeing the completion of black bear hair sample extractions collected in North Carolina and ensure safe and effective lab operations.
Specific duties:
- Training and supervising lab technicians
- Performing regular safety protocols
- Maintaining extraction lists and database
- Maintaining regular and effective communication with the lab PI.
- Assisting with lab technician duties including extracting DNA from black bear hair samples, keeping all training up to date, maintaining lab equipment in good condition, attending regular lab meetings, organizing and entering data related to extractions.
Work Schedule:
- Generally 8a-5p M-F; however, hours vary based on research needs and may include mornings, evenings, and weekends
