Job Description




As a Security Officer Full Time Screener in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a government location, where you will help monitor access points, screen visitors and belongings, and support daily security-related operations with professionalism and care. In this people-focused role, you will remain visible, provide outstanding customer service and communication, and contribute to a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a reliable approach.

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and/or contractors entering the location by following access control procedures and checking credentials, permitted items, and restricted items.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Monitor entrances, screening equipment, and/or visitor flow to help support orderly operations and identify unusual activity for follow-up.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter as assigned, with working environments and conditions varying by site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
