Responsibilities

Keysight is the world's leading electronic measurement company, helping scientists and engineers address their toughest technical challenges with confidence through innovations in wireless, modular, and software solutions. Our employees leverage their insight and passion to deliver measurement solutions in wireless communications, aerospace and defense, and semiconductor markets with world-class platforms, software and consistent measurement science.

This job will be part of the Keysight Technology Organization, which helps Keysight be first to market, focusing on top opportunities and market trends that address unmet needs. As an IC Test Engineer, you will be joining a dedicated team of visionaries to innovate and deliver the next generation of high frequency, state-of-the-art on-wafer test solutions needed to characterize and screen Keysight's internally designed state-of-the-art ICs that enable breakthrough performance in Keysight's instruments. Keysight fosters a collaborative engineering environment which emphasizes teamwork, enthusiasm, and excellence in creating high performance solutions.

As a key contributor in a diverse team, you will support the characterization, validation, and production readiness of Keysight's advanced RF and mixed-signal integrated circuits and modules. This role spans both detailed characterization and high-mix screening, requiring a balance between analysis and efficient, repeatable test execution.

You will primarily craft on-wafer microwave and millimeter-wave measurement solutions, combining hands-on instrumentation work with development of automated test and data analysis tools to improve accuracy, repeatability, and overall test efficiency. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with RF instrumentation and developing software to automate measurements, process data, and support analysis. In this role, you will collaborate with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to translate test requirements into practical, scalable solutions for both development and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Development:Define test strategies, methodologies, and automated test programs for RF and mixed-signal ICs, supporting both prototype characterization and production screening.
  • Automation and Tools: Develop and maintain software for instrument control, data acquisition, and workflow automation.
  • Test Execution:Perform primarily on-wafer microwave and millimeter-wave measurements using RF instrumentation and custom test setups to evaluate device performance and functionality.
  • Data Analysis:Analyze measurement data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance limitations, and provide clear insights to support design and production decisions.
  • Debugging:Troubleshoot test and measurement issues, working with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement:Drive improvements in test efficiency, repeatability, and data quality through enhanced workflows, automation, and measurement techniques.
  • Documentation:Maintain clear documentation of test methods, tools, results, and corrective actions to support development and manufacturing.
  • Screening and Production Support: Execute and optimize high-mix, low-volume screening workflows, including test bring-up, yield analysis, and test flow efficiency.

Qualifications

Education: B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field, with thesis work and/or relevant industry experience in mm-wave IC characterization.

Experience in:

  • RF Characterization of active and passive components (e.g. Reflection Coefficient, Matching, TOI, P1dB, Noise Figure, etc.).
  • Expertise using test and measurement equipment (e.g. a network analyzer, signal source, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
  • Test setup calibration and integrated circuit measurements.
  • Software development with object-oriented languages and working with an integrated development environment (IDE).

A strong candidate will also have:

  • Expertise in automating electrical test.
  • Experience with wafer-level probing and test.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in IC testing.
  • Knowledge in Semiconductor device physics/manufacturing processes.
  • Expertise in RF and analog integrated circuit design and analysis.
  • Knowledge in statistical analysis and process improvement.
  • Experience programming in C#, .NET, and Visual Studio.
  • Experience in PCB design.
  • Experience in mechanical design with CAD tools.
  • Experience with Keysight ADS or equivalent tools.

A successful person in this job will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, time management and communication skills to work in dynamic environment as part of multiple teams working on multiple projects.
  • Be highly motivated to accomplish all the tasks required to meet aggressive product development schedules and world class manufacturing expectations.
  • Ability to work in a leadership/lead role.

Why Join Us:

  • Innovative Environment:Work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of next-generation ICs.
