Position Summary

Support manufacturing operations within assigned production cell(s) by driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. This role partners cross-functionally to implement lean initiatives, support engineering changes, develop standard work, and ensure production readiness.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support within assigned cell(s).
  • Partner with cell teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Participate in daily cell meetings and weekly plant performance reviews.
  • Maintain and update manufacturing engineering tasks and cell logs.
  • Ensure production processes are properly resourced and supported.
  • Lead and support lean manufacturing efforts (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping, setup reduction).
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Conduct process observations to validate time standards and identify opportunities.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving (e.g., SWAT teams).
  • Review and implement Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs).
  • Initiate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between Product Engineering, Quality, and Production.
  • Create and maintain Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and train personnel.
  • Validate routings and coordinate updates with process planning.
  • Conduct contract reviews to ensure production readiness.
  • Support pre-production activities, including leading kickoff meetings.
  • Participate in Non-Conforming Parts (NCP) reviews and disposition activities.
  • Assist with supplier approvals, audits, and application reviews.
  • Design or specify equipment, tooling, and racking to support production.
  • Maintain plant and cell layouts, including safety and inventory mapping.
  • Lead or support capital equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
  • Assign and maintain inventory locations within assigned cells.
  • Support efficient material flow and organization within the production environment.
  • Communicate engineering changes to Quality and Production teams.
  • Provide ongoing support to process planning and production engineering.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Relevant technical education and/or equivalent experience
  • Lean certification or equivalent hands - on experience preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to work effectively in team-based settings
  • CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, NX/Unigraphics)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Travel: Less than 10%
  • Physical: Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb for extended periods
