Essential Functions

  • Work with office and project staff to develop BIM models of new and existing electrical systems within commercial buildings
    • These models are used to provide project coordination with other trades, dimensioned shop drawings for prefabrication and field installation, takeoffs using Revit Schedules, assist with preconstruction efforts, and as-built record drawings.
  • Perform modeling utilizing Revit in multiple types of projects.
  • Assist with Project Collaboration using Navisworks Manage while performing Coordination / Clash detection
  • Provide dimensioned shop drawings for field installation and prefabrication, as well as provide as-built record drawings at the end of the project
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards, if applicable

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • College sophomore or above working towards a related undergraduate degree or be currently enrolled in or attending trade school. If you are a recent graduate, you must be within 1 year of your graduation date.
  • No experience required.
  • Electrical and general construction knowledge is preferred to understand constructability of electrical systems
  • Basic Revit experience and understanding of its processes to model conduit and placing of equipment families, files, understanding of schedules, and work sets
  • Exposure or Knowledge of both Navisworks and Bluebeam. Proficiency will be developed as part of internship.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and give presentations.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to use most Revit tools within a project; must be able to utilize basic tools associated with electrical design such as conduit and cable tray.
  • Navisworks Manage experience and comprehensive understanding of its function by setting up and coordinating projects, files, and clash detection.
  • Willingness to learn additional software as required by project.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and have a good attitude.
