SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading production and maintenance teams to achieve operational, safety, quality, and productivity goals within a highvolume manufacturing environment. This role oversees up to 30 technical employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, environmental health and safety standards, and quality requirements. The supervisor drives continuous improvement, supports strategic planning, manages workforce utilization and maintenance activities, and serves as the site leader during offshift or management absence. Acting as a key liaison between operations and support functions, the Production Supervisor promotes lean manufacturing practices, employee development, and a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.






RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Primary focus of the role is to lead the production & maintenance teams on effectively setting and achieving company and value stream organization goals and standards
  • Responsible for the supervision, development, coaching and discipline of up to 30 technical personnel
  • Ensures compliance to plant policies & procedures.
  • Participates in strategic planning (1-year view)
  • Participates in continual improvement projects
  • Responsible for and in charge of the facility when management is not on-site including emergency Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator
  • Performs Quality Assurance related duties, for example; process audits, product quality decisions, corrective/preventive actions and constraint management
  • Analyzes weekly productivity and efficiency reports
  • Tracks daily operator efficiency / productivity and counsels' employees as needed to improve performance
  • Responsible for ensuring product quality awareness and counsels employees in problem areas.
  • Responsible for organizing manpower, hours worked, and verifying / approving payroll hours input to assigned cost center / process code
  • Completes daily walk-throughs in production areas to review and follow up on any production and EHS issues
  • Responsible for Maintenance Work Order Prioritization and Resolution


  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling of preventive maintenance for all production equipment in their value stream.
  • Responsible for monitoring equipment efficiencies and downtimes
  • Assists in managing the computerized maintenance management software corresponding to the Value Stream Equipment Repairs
  • Supervises to ensure the Lockout / Tag-out system and all environmental, health and safety regulations associated with the maintenance technician function are followed per policy.
  • Participates in corrective actions relating to Quality, EHS and Engineering


  • Supervises Lean Manufacturing activities on production floor and completes the standard work checklist
  • Coordinates operator rotation; cross training, daily pulls; expedites
  • Responsible for prioritization of maintenance work orders and follow up


  • Enforces the Pay-For-Knowledge training program by ensuring training needs are communicated to the Training Coordinator or HR Personnel.
  • Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for all direct reports on an annual basis or as performance issues arise.
  • Counsels the Production Team members on how to solve issues, conflict resolution and takes appropriate disciplinary action following the Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct
  • Communicates management objectives to the value stream production teams
  • Acts as a technical resource to the team and facilitates between team and support functions, for example: Materials/Logistics, Quality Assurance, EHS, Human Resources, Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Ensures the teams maintain a safe, clean work environment following 5s principles.
  • Ensures that EHS issues are brought to the attention of the Value Stream Manager/ EHS Manager and that follow up corrective action is taken.
  • Responsible for working together with other Supervisors to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Will be required to perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by members of the Management Team




EDUCATION:




  • Technical/Business Management Degree or equivalent experience in a Supervisory Role for a minimum of four years required




EXPERIENCE:

COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • Minimum 3 years Manufacturing experience working in high volume production required
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments preferred.


  • Demonstrate success in teamwork environment as a team leader or facilitator in achieving goals and objectives.
  • Strong coaching ability required
  • Must have proficient computer skills (word, excel, Power Point).
  • Knowledge of MRP/ Kan Ban/Constraint Management. Experience w/SAP helpful
  • Self -motivated and hands-on.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS requirements and standards.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Textile manufacturing and IATF16949, ISO 14001; ISO45001 experience preferred.
  • Strong oral / written communication skills required
  • Project management experience helpful
  • Must have Excellent Interpersonal relations required.
