About us
National Grid owns and operates electricity and gas transmission and distribution networks across our New York and New England business units, with over 5 million customers across our businesses. We are investing over $80bn over five years in our networks in the UK and the US, with a range of ground-breaking projects to expand and transform our networks to meet the energy future. We are looking for a Vice President, Controller for our New York Business Unit (BU) and consolidated U.S. holding companies. This role will ensure the integrity of our external reporting and control environment, and partner with the New York Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Group Controller, and other key stakeholders to influence successful business outcomes. The role reports to the New York CFO. Job Purpose
The Vice President, Controller will be accountable for the integrity of the internal and external financial information for the three operating companies making up our New York Business Unit, as well as National Grid Service Company, National Grid USA Consolidated (NGUSA), and National Grid North America Consolidated (NGNA). The role will partner closely with the Controllers of our New England and National Grid Ventures Business Units, as well as the Group's Enterprise Business Services team. The role requires strong commercial, technical, and regulatory acumen as well as prior experience with accounting, financial reporting, tax, and regulatory reporting. This person will lead and develop a team of around 19 people (three direct reports), and will build strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. The person will also provide accounting and regulatory support to the broader US Finance function, ensuring sound technical principles are embedded in financial processes, and will educate the New York business on the financial impact of key business decisions.
