Summary The Head of Engineering role is a highly visible and critical leadership role that will oversee all engineering activities onsite, including maintenance, capital and facilities management for the site. Plays a significant role in any reconfiguration of plant equipment and its layout onsite, while ensuring that compliance with all safety and cGMP regulations is maintained at all times. - Provide leadership and guidance of the site Engineering and EHS departments.
- Ensure alignment of Site growth plans and strategies, including accountability for the site CAPEX plan.
- Maintain a skilled engineering workforce that can deploy the right skills to deliver on the site transformation plans.
- Providing engineering leadership at site level plus regional level when required.
- Management of Site Facility Master Plan as a strategic tool for capital investments.
- Is a problem-identifier and solver; recognizes a wide range of early warning signals in the Business, which allows and/or requires a proactive approach to problem prevention.
- Influence the strategic and tactical direction of the business by providing insightful and timely analytics.
- Ensure full alignment with site operating plans within a regulatory framework to deliver flawless EHS and cGMP compliance.
- Develop and implement engineering programs to drive engineering excellence
- Ensure a timely and smooth transition of new assets onto the site.
- Operate as an ambassador for the leadership team, supporting other areas of the business as needed, such as site/business acquisition.
- Support the company's safety health and environmental program to maximize safety awareness and provide a safe work environment.
- Recruit, retain, and develop talent to support the growth of a world-class CDMO
- Ensure that the automation systems are developed/maintained to meet the current and future needs of the business.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science or Engineering.
- 10 years of pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing experience in an Engineering function or related area within the industry
- High level of experience in maintenance, project management, and validation within a pharmaceutical contract manufacturing organization.
- Specialist Technical competence and unit dose knowledge in Oral Solid Dose forms with knowledge of other dose forms is desirable.
- Project management skills and experience on major engineering and/or capital projects.
- Experience in maintenance excellence tools such as, Reliability-Based Maintenance, Operator Asset Care, and performance management.
- Ability to set an annual capital and operational budget and its management throughout the year.
- Ability to use and interpret data to drive decision-making at both tactical and strategic levels.
- Proven ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels within the organization.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineering designation, recognized in Minnesota
