Overview
Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Finance Data Specialist. Primary Function: Responsible for the coordination of data between systems and departments within HVCU. Key support for data governance and financial data in the Databricks environment. Document, maintain, troubleshoot, and administer all financial data processes. Support the Finance Division and other LOBs utilizing financial data.
Responsibilities
- Become an expert in data systems supporting the Finance Division, particularly as relates to Databricks environment.
- Primary support for Finance Division data needs through SQL programming, data transformation, queries, and PowerBI reporting.
- Maintain and coordinate data movement of internal files in/out of the Workday database environment, Prism.
- Support the data needs of Accounting, Finance, Treasury, FP&A including management and development of division specific tables such as participations and FTP.
- Work with Enterprise Architecture to enable the transfer of necessary finance data between departments.
- Document and maintain all Databricks (Finance) processes.
- Troubleshoot Databricks (Finance) process complications in a timely manner.
- Support for IT governance of data access to other areas.
- Remain current in emerging data analytic trends primarily related to the financial services industry.
- Liaison with other departments across the Credit Union including IT, Banking Division, Risk, Operations, and others to ensure Finance data needs are being met.
- Work to support department KPIs
- Serve as cross-functional backup for Workday Admin.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

- Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field required
- Advanced degree a plus
- Databricks certified Data Analyst Associate preferred
- Minimum 5 years Analytics and data visualization required
- Minimum 3 years Financial Services preferred
- Minimum 2years Could-based data platforms required
- Minimum 2 years modern programming language required
