We're hiring a Location Quality Control Manager to join County Materials in Freeport, Florida.

Job Summary: The Location Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading all quality assurance and quality control activities for precast and concrete manufacturing operations. This role ensures concrete products meet PCI, ACI, ASTM, regulatory, and customer specifications while supporting production efficiency, continuous improvement, and workplace safety. The Quality Control Manager supervises QC staff, manages concrete mix designs, partners with production and engineering teams, and proactively identifies and resolves quality issues throughout the manufacturing process.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Supervise, mentor, and train Quality Control Technicians to ensure consistent application of quality standards.
  • Assign daily QC responsibilities and ensure adherence to company, industry, and regulatory quality procedures.
  • Perform and oversee quality control inspections, testing, and monitoring at all stages of concrete production.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI, ACI, ASTM, and internal quality standards.
  • Produce and evaluate concrete samples, test specimens, and mockup panel castings as required.
  • Oversee accelerated curing processes and evaluate concrete performance and test results.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Foreman to coordinate production schedules and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Work closely with the Batch Plant Operator to manage concrete mix quantities, batching accuracy, and delivery timing.
  • Communicate with engineers and project teams regarding shop drawings, specifications, mix designs, and technical concerns.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize concrete mix designs to balance cost, performance, efficiency, and quality.
  • Observe manufacturing processes including setup, casting, stripping, curing, and storage to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with production teams to troubleshoot defects, implement corrective actions, and improve quality outcomes.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit quality control documentation, inspection records, test reports, and compliance records.
  • Record inspection results and provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety standards to ensure a clean, organized, and compliant plant environment.

Experience & Qualifications: (Required or Preferred)


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training, college coursework, or degree preferred.
  • 6-8 years of quality control experience required.
  • Previous experience in concrete manufacturing, precast operations, or batch plant quality control required.
  • Experience in the construction, building materials, or industrial manufacturing industry required.
  • Proven ability to interpret shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong math, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • ACI Field Technician Level I required.
  • PCI Level II certification required; PCI Level III preferred.


Work Environment:


  • Work performed in a plant and field-based environment with both indoor and outdoor exposure.
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, weather conditions, concrete materials, and industrial equipment.
  • Approximately 10% travel required.
  • Typical schedule includes standard business hours, with potential overtime based on production demands.
