Job Description:

Microchip has an opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join the Facilities Site Services team at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon.

The Security Supervisor oversees daily operations for the facility's security team. You will be responsible for implementing safety procedures, managing access control, and ensuring a secure environment for employees, visitors, and complex semiconductor manufacturing assets.

This role also holds secondary responsibility for managing third-party janitorial and landscaping contracts to maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained campus environment.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the Security Contractor to hire, train and supervise security officers; proactively assess contractor performance and ensure staffing and scheduling maintain 24/7 coverage.

  • Monitor and enforce strict protocols for high-security areas such as cleanrooms, inventory storage, and network hubs; assess evolving threats and exercise real-time judgment to address risks beyond standard procedures.

  • Oversee CCTV and alarm monitoring platforms; critically evaluate system outputs to identify threats, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and walk-throughs; synthesize findings into prioritized recommendations and drive corrective actions through to resolution.

  • Must be familiar with DHS (Department of Homeland Security) requirements for chemical storage facilities.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between security operations and senior management; exercise sound judgment in escalating incidents and communicating risk.

  • Serve as the day-to-day liaison with janitorial and landscaping contractors; independently address performance issues and service gaps before they escalate.

  • Monitor contractor performance against contract scope, schedule, and quality standards; identify deficiencies early and make informed decisions on corrective action.

  • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and Procurement team on contract renewals, bid evaluations, and scope changes; apply critical analysis to vendor proposals to balance cost, quality, and operational risk.

  • Solve complex, non-routine problems by evaluating options, building cross-functional buy-in, and managing change with minimal operational disruption.

  • Build and lead engaged teams by assessing strengths, closing gaps, and making deliberate decisions about structure, culture, and development.

  • Evaluate employee performance and respond to issues with appropriately identified solutions.

  • Diagnose performance challenges in others and implement development plans.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced certification as an Oregon DPSST Security Officer and Security Supervisor.

  • Proficiency with security technology, access control, and Axis Camera platforms.

  • 3-5+ years in security operations, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • 3+ years of experience as aSecurity Supervisor or equivalent role.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and handle high-pressure crisis situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and oversee vendor contracts; prior experience managing service contracts is a plus.

  • Ability to identify, assign, measure, and monitor employee performance.

  • Ability to coach and develop skills in others.

  • Team player. Professional, respectful, and accountable to colleagues, direct reports, internal and external customers.

  • Team builder. Proven track record of building a high performing team and developing employees.

  • Problem Solver. Proven track record of systematically solving complex problems with robust, "outside of the box" solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field preferred.
