Exterior Trim Engineer Location: Newark, CA (100% Onsite) Pay Rate: $50.00-$55.00/hour + OT Schedule: 40 hours/week + approx. 5 hours OT Travel Reimbursement: Up to $500/week We are hiring an experienced Exterior Trim Engineer for a contract opportunity supporting the development of next-generation vehicles. This role focuses on the design, engineering release, and launch of automotive exterior trim systems. Ideal candidates are Design Release Engineers (DREs) with hands-on product development experience-not CAD-only engineers. Key Responsibilities: Lead design, packaging, release, and launch of exterior trim components Develop high-quality, cost-effective exterior systems for production vehicles Support components such as rocker panels, side valences, spoilers, wheelhouse liners, aero shields, sill trims, and front trunk trim parts Collaborate with styling, manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams Improve fit, finish, gap, flush, durability, and manufacturability Support tooling, supplier launches, testing, and engineering changes Use engineering tools and CAD systems to validate product designs Qualifications: 2+ years of automotive Exterior Trim Design Release Engineering experience Strong background in vehicle product development and component launch Experience with CATIA V5 or V6 preferred Knowledge of plastics, Class A surfaces, paint, tooling, thermal expansion, and structural design Strong problem-solving and 3D engineering skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred Employee Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance 401(k) Retirement Savings Plans Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Commuter/Parking Accounts People Perks Health Savings Account (HSA) AD & D Insurance Ready to help shape world-class vehicle design?
