Overview
The College of Arts and Sciences seeks a motivated and collaborative Program Coordinator to support the launch of a new High School Engagement Initiative (HSEI). This pilot program is designed to strengthen partnerships between Utah State University and secondary schools across Utah through faculty classroom visits, teacher-faculty workshops, and outreach activities that support college readiness and broaden access to higher education.

The coordinator will play a central role in designing, organizing, and implementing the initiative in collaboration with faculty and department leadership in English and Mathematics & Statistics. This role will help shape the structure and long-term potential of the initiative and is ideal for someone who is highly organized, communicates effectively across educational settings, and is excited about building meaningful connections between K-12 schools and higher education.

This is a temporary postion ending in June 2027. This Position will be Full-time (40 hours per week) through the summer and move to Quartertime (30 hours per week) in the school year.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate implementation of the High School Engagement Initiative in collaboration with program leadership
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between USU faculty, department heads, and participating middle and high schools
  • Develop and manage communication with teachers, school partners, and faculty participants
  • Plan and organize teacher-faculty workshops and related outreach events
  • Facilitate scheduling and logistics for faculty visits to secondary classrooms
  • Support faculty in developing and preparing classroom presentations and instructional materials
  • Coordinate travel, materials, and outreach resources (including ordering instructional materials and program items)
  • Develop and maintain website and communication content for the initiative
  • Conduct site visits to support program implementation and gather feedback
  • Assist in designing and implementing program assessment, including data collection and reporting
  • Attend regular planning meetings and contribute to ongoing program development


Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, English, Communication, Secondary Education, or a related field
  • Experience working in Utah K-12 schools or with secondary educators
  • Demonstrated experience working across both K-12 and higher education settings
  • Established connections with Utah teachers, schools, or districts
  • Experience coordinating events
  • Familiarity with college readiness efforts, concurrent enrollment, or K-12-higher education partnerships
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills across diverse audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively while managing projects independently
  • Experience with program assessment, data collection, or evaluation
  • Experience developing web or outreach communication materials
