ChristianaCare's Surgical Services team is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant I for their department in Newark, DE at our Map I location.

Join a trusted, patientcentered General Surgery team delivering highquality care to communities across Delaware. Our boardcertified general surgeons provide comprehensive surgical services for conditions affecting the abdomen, breast, skin, soft tissue, endocrine system, and digestive tract.

Our program offers expertise across a wide range of procedures, including hernia repair, gallbladder removal, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and other advanced general surgery interventions. The team is committed to utilizing modern surgical techniques, including minimally invasive and laparoscopic approaches, to support faster recovery times and improved patient outcomes.

Duties / Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.

Position Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or GED required.

• A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
