Job Title: LPE Technician
Location: On-Site, Dallas, TX
Employment Type: Temp to Direct
Industry: Defense & Aerospace
Compensation: $22/hr
Shift: 1st (may change once training is complete)
Schedule: 9x80 - 6:00am-3:30pm (every other Friday off)
About the Opportunity:
Join an IR Material Manufacturing Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the growth and processing of specialized materials essential for the development of infrared (IR) technologies.
What You'll Do:
  • HgCdTe LPE Material Growth and Processing: Prepare and perform liquid phase epitaxy (LPE) material growth and post-growth processing, ensuring meticulous detail and precision.
  • Hazardous Material Handing: Handle HgCdTe/CdZnTe materials and chemicals with exceptional manual dexterity and attention to minute details. Prepare and clean products using acids and solvents.
  • Tool Operation / Measurement: Operate LPE reactors, conduct metrology measurements, and perform final material inspections adhering to detailed specifications.
  • Technical Support: Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, materials, products, processes, and equipment.
  • Managing WIP (Work In Progress) / Process Flow: Efficiently manage work in progress, optimize production process flow, and maintain accurate records using Manufacturing Execution Software.
  • Cleanroom Production: Perform various functions in a class 10000 cleanroom environment, adhering to stringent cleanliness protocols.
  • Adaptive Problem-Solving: Proactively adjust techniques to improve efficiency and outcomes when necessary and respond to process deviations.
  • Proper Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Adhere to all safety guidelines and properly use required PPE.
  • Interpreting Instructions: Accurately interpret process flow instructions and other written or verbal guidelines.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HgCdTe LPE Material Growth and Processing
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a class 10000 environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience handling HgCdTe/CdZnTe materials and chemicals
What Sets You Apart:
  • Associates degree
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending work instructions
  • Vacuum / Low-Pressure Handling: Experience working with materials and processes under vacuum or controlled low-pressure atmospheres; familiarity with vacuum system operation, pump-down/vent procedures, and contamination control.
  • Technologically Adept: Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical concepts and computer skills, including familiarity with Windows-based applications.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Strong coordination skills for accurate movement of material.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle small and delicate components efficiently.
  • Microscope Familiarity: Comfortable working with microscopes for detailed assembly.
Additional Information:
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 lbs. less than 5% per week, and the ability to stand or walk 50% of the time.
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen

  • Successful candidate must be able to obtain and main (level of) security clearance.
