Position Summary:

Provide strategic and tactical leadership for the Manufacturing Engineering group at the plant level to support division goals with focus on customer experience and profitable growth.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to maximize customer service, reduce manufacturing cost and provide capacity to meet business unit and divisional goals.

  • Provide technical leadership in the manufacturing process leveraging the latest technology to integrate new product and process development for the division

  • Evaluate and develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production problems through identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes
  • Evaluate capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications. Design and prepare concept drawings and implement new equipment, prototypes or modifications to existing equipment. Manage the overall implementations of capital equipment projects.
  • Investigate and prepare manufacturing methods for new products and prototypes in a timely manner. Prepares and carries out tool redesign and alterations, change in material specification, dimensions, methods, routing, etc. Standardize manufacturing methods.
  • Assure process control and reliability for broad areas of manufacturing that may include supplier base as appropriate.
  • Analize and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Refine and enhance processes by applying continuous improvement and key Lean manufacturing/ production principles and techniques to areas of production.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in an Engineering or related discipline
  • 7-10 Years of Engineering or related experience
  • 2-3 years management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, process engineering and lean practices
  • Experience with process improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and writtencommunication skill
