Position Details:
Under the direction of the supervisor, the Nursing Scheduling Coordinator monitors daily staffing needs to procure and coordinate supplemental staffing coverage to ensure a safe environment for patients in a cost effective manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to discuss the staffing needs and requirements of each unit, arrange supplemental coverage, and maintain external contacts with staffing agencies. COMPETENCIES: A. Education: Completion of an AA degree is preferred. B. Knowledge of programs that relate to productivity, improvement, like scheduling, spreadsheets, electronic communication. Understands the nursing department structure and competencies to assign staff to the appropriate unit each shift C. SkillsManages and maintains the supplemental staff schedules and updates schedules.Identify gaps in schedules and independently solicits supplemental staff and nurse staffing agencies to make changes to improve the mix of staff available to meet patient care needs. Using knowledge of nursing competencies, nursing department structure, and scheduling/assignment criteria accurately assigns nursing staff to nursing units.Ability to recognize and/or anticipate the needs of customers and respond accordinglyAnalytical ability to organize work, set priorities, performs duties simultaneously and effectively function in stressful situations Salary Range: Minimum 18.59/hour - Maximum 30.69/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
