Position Description: Lead with executive presence, strategic understanding of Self-Perform Operations (SPO), and with broader company perspective and goals to lead SPO organization, objectives, and projects within business center and local offices. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Lead with action to build trust and promote "One Turner" philosophy with business centers, local offices, and external resources. Drive business center local office culture consistent with Self-Perform Operations (SPO) guiding principles and engage with and influence culture regarding SPO on every project.
- Lead development of and communicate SPO organizational standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout business center aligned with functional and business center leadership directives and Turner Operation Group (TOG) recommendations. Collaborate with National SPO leadership to align and improve operational efficiencies across business centers. Facilitate information sharing of best practices within the business center and nationally.
- Deliver communications to provide context and share information effectively across organizational levels and externally facilitate communication to collaborate across business centers to develop seamless SPO operations and integration across company.
- Demonstrate people-oriented leadership to facilitate, collaborate, and develop relationships and expand professional networks (internally and externally).
- Prioritize SPO safety across business center and collaborate with Safety team to develop communication plans and standard operating procedures for adoption by business center local offices. Promote complete integration of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Building L.I.F.E. principles and strive for zero incidents amongst SPO and staff.
- Lead business planning to develop and implement annual Profit Plan in alignment with General Manager (GM) and establish evaluation process to achieve stated goals. Accelerate growth, drive to earnings target, and develop strategies to increase SPO penetration and profitability. Leverage SPO expertise and talent placement throughout business center to increase profitability.
- Implement standards for financial forecasting, reporting, estimating, and production tracking. Conduct regular review of SPO goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) against actual performance, develop plan to improve performance, as necessary.
- Maintain active engagement with business center projects and business development opportunities, attend presentations to maintain full understanding of major projects to maintain full understanding of financials, SPO impact, and related staff opportunities.
- Collaborate with business center leadership, Resource Officer, and local Human Resources to identify workforce planning needs for SPO employee assignments, participate in project recruiting, career progression, and succession planning activities for sustained staffing pipeline that meets forecasted requirements and results in retention.
Drive actions to align recruiting planning for both staff and Trades with technical skills and acumen needed to perform direct work scopes required to achieve financial and hiring goals. Strategically plan business center and local office SPO resources based on revenue benchmark and actuals to facilitate operational and financial decisions and resource management goals. Coordinate needs & availabilities with direct work SPO business leaders. Promote employee mobility within SPO and facilitate career development opportunities with other business centers and in conjunction with Resource Manager. Strategically deploy resources to grow capabilities across business centers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program and minimum of 15 years of building construction experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- In-depth knowledge of Self-Perform Operations (SPO) specific scopes of work and trades
- Large and mega construction project experience, desired
- Demonstrate people-oriented leadership style
- Strong business acumen, strategic mindset, and financial comprehension to facilitate operational decisions
- Deep understanding of and able to establish strategic plans for workforce development, resource management, and staff career development across multiple offices, and in demanding and competitive environment
- Able to develop clear vision for achieving resource management goals aligned strategic business objectives
- Exhibit behaviors and values that align with organizational culture; viewed as leader and role model for inclusion and collaboration
- Extensive experience to establish and achieve strategic business key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting and history of meeting financial performance metrics
- Ability to grow leadership impact beyond local responsibilities, focusing on overall company performance
- Leadership presentation delivery and negotiation skills, with ability to influence and engage others that are not direct reports across organizational levels
- Extensive experience leading diverse and remote teams, foster collaboration, and drive accountability
- Ability to oversee and drive accountability for resource planning, able to assess and support career development for employees, and collaborate with other leaders to identify career opportunities across organization
