Overview

The Corporate Finance Manager will report to the Senior Director of FP&A and be responsible for managing and controlling the corporate functions expenses at Waters (CEO, Legal, IT, Finance, HR, Communications, Research & Strategy). The total scope of spending this role is responsible for supporting is ~$350M.

In addition, this role will help in the consolidation of corporate related expenses associated with the recent BD acquisition into the legacy Waters Corporate functions to align on accountability of ~$120M of spend.

This person will manage a team of three analysts who are responsible for business partnering and planning/closing financials for their respective functions each month. Additionally, this person is responsible for creating the consolidated monthly document (contact report) that is submitted to FP&A, which summarizes the results of Waters' corporate functions in aggregate and ensuring analytics on G&A functions are created and/or maintained.

The person in this role will be expected to serve as the direct business partner to the respective EC members who own the Corporate Function G&A Spend. This will include SVP's of Legal, HR, Strategy & Research, Communications, as well as the CIO and CFO. They must also be prepared to present to the CFO, CEO & Executive Committee as needed.



Responsibilities

    Manage, develop, and lead a team of analysts focused on corporate function (HR, IT, Finance, Legal, CEO etc.) financial closing and business partnering. Ensure team delivers partnering as desired and close deliverables are analyzed in advance and delivered on time.
  • Manage the corporate function close process and report summarized corporate function performance to FP&A concisely, focusing on business drivers behind financial data and implications on future results and forecasts.
  • Manage and drive the operational and financial planning AOP for the corporate functions, ensuring each of the respective functions deliver an achievable plan on target while meeting strategic and operational goals.
  • Manage, drive and report on the performance to plan for the recently announced synergy savings associated with BD acquisition.
  • Serve as direct business partner to Corp Function EC members:
    • Translating functional strategies into financial implications, tradeoffs, and investment cases.
    • Influence decisionmaking by providing scenario analysis, ROI modeling, and costbenefit evaluations.
    • Provide analytical support for investment approval processes and capital requests
    • Challenge assumptions and ensure alignment with enterprise financial goals
  • Responsible for developing the Corporate Functions multi-year financials in support of the annual Strategy planning process.
  • Identify and lead cost optimization initiatives, including Providing Support for GBS function within the Finance organization to ensure accuracy in tracking/reporting costs per transaction.
  • Ad hoc analysis on corporate functions, attend meetings within corporate function leads, and participate in cross functional teams as needed.


Qualifications

  • BS in Finance with MBA preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience, preferably in a public company. Prior management experience required.
  • Prior experience managing/supporting corporate G&A functions a plus
  • Operates with integrity, transparency and humility
  • Excellent communication skills. Comfortable with presenting to executives.
  • Balances strategic thinking and accountability in execution to deliver results
  • Carries a broad global perspective of markets, tech, and trends
