Assistant General Manager - (On-Site)

We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Assistant Administrative Manager to support the daily operations of our Dallas Distribution Center. The Assistant Administrative Manager provides administrative support to customer service and distribution center operations. This position involves continuous interaction with Hoya's internal departments, the warehousing 3PL partner, suppliers, and vendors. The overall objective is to assist the DC General Manager, maintain daily operations, and quickly resolve any issues that may arise. Successful candidates will have import and export experience and high attention to detail in managing xls worksheets in a warehouse setting.

What You'll Do

The Distribution Center Operations position entails daily task management, prioritization, system troubleshooting, quality control, and customer service satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership & Operational Support

  • Serve as the primary backup to the General Manager; lead the DC in their absence.
  • Work closely with 3PL leadership to forecast labor needs, align daily workflow, and uphold productivity expectations.
  • Partner with Customer Service, IT, Quality, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth daily operations.

Continuous Improvement & Performance

  • Support and lead initiatives that reduce cost, improve workflow efficiency, and increase order accuracy.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions with 3PL partners and internal teams.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Execution & Problem Solving

  • Oversee key warehouse processes, including inbound/outbound operations, inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and returns.
  • Investigate issues such as misships, system discrepancies, or product quality concerns; implement corrective actions quickly.
  • Lead critical DC administrative tasks such as reporting of inbound receipts, ensuring availability of warehouse supplies, coordination with building vendors, and document preparation for exports, cross-docks and factory direct shipments.
  • Support special projects such as warehouse reorganization, layout improvements, and process changes.

What Makes You Successful

  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain, warehousing, or DC operations (3PL experience a plus).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a 3PLmanaged environment.
  • Analytical mindset with a drive to improve processes and reduce waste.
  • Comfortable managing priorities in a fastpaced, hands-on operational environment.

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree preferred

* 3-5 years working experience in either Supply Chain oriented or Warehouse Distribution environment

* Combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree

* Experience in the Optical Industry preferred

* Familiarity with commercial invoice formats & import/export procedures

* Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus

* Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, MS Excel and Powerpoint) is required

Some working hours will be in a warehouse, distribution center environment; and will include the sounds of trucks, forklifts and some sudden noises.
