Senior Mechanical Engineer | Las Vegas, NV

IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Las Vegas, NV, to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects and help deliver larger, high-complexity work with limited support from senior staff. You'll work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to support positive outcomes, with a focus on project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. You'll also support budget management, training and mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

* Lead design efforts for the analysis of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
* Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
* Perform site assessments and develop detailed analysis and technical reports
* Gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively to support client needs
* Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
* Perform in-process design reviews of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence
* Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
* Provide technical training and mentoring, and assist with resolution of field issues with limited support from senior staff
* Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts
* Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work by identifying and mitigating potential safety risks associated with mechanical systems

Required Qualifications and Skills

* Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required
* Professional Engineer (PE) License required
* 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
* Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
* Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
* Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
* Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
* Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
* Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

State of Nevada Salary Range: $112,000 - $170,000

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
