Senior Electrical Engineer | Denver, CO

IMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Denver, CO, to lead design efforts within commercial interiors as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects. You'll work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients-supporting project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. You'll support commercial interiors and tenant improvement projects while helping manage budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate across disciplines to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

* Lead electrical engineering design and analysis efforts for building systems in support of commercial interiors and tenant improvement projects
* Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and IMEG standards
* Perform site assessments and produce technical analyses and reports
* Partner with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information clearly, and maintain strong client relationships
* Conduct in-process reviews of designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence; apply IMEG quality control processes
* Provide technical assistance to help resolve field and construction-phase issues
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., architects, other engineers, and project managers) to deliver integrated solutions
* Support project management needs, including schedule and budget awareness aligned with project goals and client expectations
* Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
* Prioritize safety in all work; identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
* Participate in project interviews and project presentations
* Train, mentor, and motivate staff

Required Qualifications and Skills

* Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
* Professional Engineer (PE) License required
* 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
* Adept in the technical aspects of one's discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
* Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
* Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
* Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
* Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
* Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
* Strong training and mentoring skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Electrical Team Highlights

State of Colorado Salary Range: $119,000 - $178,000
Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
