ABOUT THE JOB

As a Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) with Helena Products Group (HPG), you'll be the go-to technical leader who helps turn great products into real-world results across your Business Unit. You'll partner closely with Product Managers and sales teams to sharpen product positioning, deliver engaging, data-driven training, and equip the field with clear, confident agronomic messaging that wins customer trust. From coordinating go-to-market strategy and supporting demos and field trials to collaborating with R&D on testing, protocols, and trial insights, you'll connect the dots between research, the field, and the customer--directly influencing adoption, market share, and the success of Helena's product portfolio.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE



Technical Sales & Marketing Support

  • Provides technical sales and marketing support to Helena Product Managers (PMs) to drive sales and market share of Helena products.
  • Leads data-driven product training utilizing trial results and technical insights for PMs and sales teams.
  • Trains sales teams in Helena category, program and tier selling.
  • Assists Sales & Marketing leadership in promoting and positioning Helena products across the BU.
  • Participates in internal sales meetings and external customer meetings.
  • Provides input for the creation of co-promotions, sales programs, calculators, pricing tools, and other sales materials.
  • Supports relationship development with key HPG suppliers and partner companies.



GotoMarket (GTM) Planning & Field Execution

  • Coordinates PMs to develop and implement our Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and sales support tactics.
  • Monitors and evaluates tactics, providing feedback for improvement.
  • Identifies and develops technical support materials that enhance execution in the field.
  • Assists PMs and agronomy teams with developing demonstration plots and field trials.
  • Creates and supports data-driven agronomic messaging and product positioning.



Technical Services and SalesFocused R&D Collaboration

  • Coordinates testing requests with HPG R&D team.
  • Provides input on protocol design and trial placement and approves protocols prior to implementation.
  • Reviews trial reports and data summaries provided by HPG R&D and provides feedback for approved data slides.
  • Assists HPG R&D team in maintaining BU/division action plans and testing budgets.
  • Coordinates complaint handling, product quality notifications, and tank-mix issue resolution.
  • Works with Regulatory on label-related issues and identify needed updates



External Partner Relationships

  • Develops and maintains relationships with universities, government partners and other centers of influence.
  • Assists HPG R&D team in developing and maintaining relationships with external technical and R&D partners.



Other Duties and Requirements

  • May be required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelor of Science in Agronomy, Plant Science, Agriculture, or related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Seven years of experience in technical sales, agronomy, product development, R&D or a related commercial agriculture role.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.



SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS




  • Demonstrated success leading through influence and driving alignment across teams without direct authority.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate research data
  • Travel by various means up to 50-70% of the time is required. Travel requirements may vary to support onboarding and ramp-up, based on the experience and skill level of the selected candidate.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle. Must be able to meet all company requirements to drive a Helena vehicle.



Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
