Job Summary


The Quality Tester / Inspector is responsible for performing inspection and electrical testing of transformers and regulators throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures products meet established quality standards by conducting routine and specialized tests, documenting results, and supporting continuous improvement on the production floor.

Job Responsibilities



  • Perform electrical testing on single-phase and three-phase transformers and regulators
  • Conduct dielectric tests including induced (OX), impulse, and hipot (applied potential)
  • Perform loss testing, including load loss (winding loss) and no-load loss (core loss)
  • Conduct power factor, ratio, resistance, and continuity testing
  • Execute operational tests on regulators as required
  • Inspect and verify unit nameplates, stamp impedance values, and secure nameplates to completed units
  • Perform visual inspections of units during and after assembly
  • Conduct additional tests such as leak, insulation resistance, control box, and regulator testing
  • Apply decals and stencils and perform paint mileage checks as required
  • Complete inspection documentation and maintain accurate testing records
  • Collect and record data per established procedures
  • Assist Engineering and Manufacturing teams in troubleshooting and resolving quality issues
  • Perform minor maintenance on testing equipment
  • Support special testing requirements as needed


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work location (no relocation provided; exceptions for active-duty military)
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, twisting, and reaching


Preferred Qualifications



  • Education or training in AC/DC fundamentals or electrical coursework
  • At least 1 year of experience working with electrical systems or testing

  • Ability to follow established testing procedures and documentation requirements
  • Basic understanding of electrical testing methods and equipment
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to support troubleshooting efforts

Education



  • High school diploma or GED required


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing or related experience required
