Focus: The Temporary General Manufacturing Operator is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and quality-driven production of ammunition products. This role involves operating equipment, handling materials, and following strict safety and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

General Manufacturing Operator - Ammunition Production Lead Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment used in ammunition production
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure product quality and consistency
  • Perform routine inspections and basic quality checks on materials and finished goods
  • Handle raw materials and components safely, including powders, casings, and primers
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance safety standards
  • Identify and report equipment issues, defects, or safety concerns to supervisors
  • Support production goals by meeting output and efficiency targets
  • Comply with all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and basic maintenance as needed

General Manufacturing Operator - Ammunition Production Lead Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum 1 year previous manufacturing or production experience; Lake City Experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work extended shifts in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overhead, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry 30-40 lbs., push up to 1,000 lbs. pounds, including team lifts and use of support devices (hand cart, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.)

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen.
