Vice President / Senior Director - Panel Management & Online Communities (Tech Industry)

The Vice President of Panel Management & Online Communities will serve as the executive strategic operational leader dedicated to a top-tier global enterprise account in the tech industry.

This is a pivotal role designed for an operational powerhouse who combines executive composure, strategic innovation, and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams to accelerate the growth and retention of strategic accounts. You will own the strategic health, operational efficiency, and quality of custom quantitative panels, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to demanding enterprise insights stakeholders. This role will be part of senior management team driving the future of the practice.

Strategic Pillars & Key Responsibilities:

1. Enterprise Client Leadership & Strategic Partnership

  • Executive Presence & Composure: Serve as the primary senior operational leader and executive partner for the tech industry insights and research organizations. Excel under high pressure with a resilient, solution-oriented mindset when navigating complex client dynamics, tight turnarounds, or shifting priorities. Help shape our client's roadmap as a strategic partner.

  • Strategic Innovation: Continuously elevate the panel value proposition by introducing proactive, innovative ideas-integrating next-generation research technology, AI-driven engagement strategies, and custom panel offerings tailored to emerging product domains.

  • Consultative Escalation Management: Turn complex operational challenges or delivery friction into opportunities for strategic alignment, establishing gold-standard communication, transparency, and trust.

2. Operational Execution & End-to-End Lifecycle Excellence

  • Panel & Community Roadmap: Own and execute the strategic roadmap for custom panel expansion, panelist acquisition, and retention across global markets and high-priority consumer/B2B segments.

  • P&L & Commercial Stewardship: Drive organic business development and identify upsell and cross selling opportunities. Oversee panel budgets, optimizing recruitment acquisition costs, incentive spend, panel lifetime value (LTV), and project profitability while contributing to commercial expansion during major account bids.

  • Process Standardization & Speed: Standardize global operational workflows to maximize delivery speed, feasibility accuracy, and response rates without sacrificing data integrity.

  • Scalable Automation (AI/DIY Workflows): Establish and govern global SLAs and lead change management to transition manual operations into modern, automated workflows to support existing business and attract new business.

3. High-Impact Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Team Empowerment & Mentorship: Build, mentor, and inspire a world-class team of panel managers, sample strategists, and operations coordinators across North America and global delivery hubs.

  • Culture of Curiosity & Excellence: Foster a high-accountability team environment that balances operational rigor, agility, creative problem-solving, and continuous professional growth.

  • Capacity & Resource Optimization: Architect team workloads, cross-functional staffing models, and operational capabilities to scale seamlessly alongside client demand.

4. Market Research Expertise, Data Ecosystems & Quality Assurance

  • Methodological & Data Fluency: Possess deep expertise in quantitative sampling methods, panel weighting, representative delivery, survey design impact, and data hygiene protocols.

  • Advanced Fraud Mitigation & Compliance: Drive industry-leading quality assurance, integrating digital fingerprinting, behavioral bot detection, and automated fraud prevention. Ensure 100% compliance with GDPR, CCPA, ESOMAR, and CASRO privacy frameworks.

  • Data Integration & Tech Stack: Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to optimize panel health dashboards, mobile-first panelist user experiences (UX), API integrations, and analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Cint, Forsta/Confirmit, Qualtrics).

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years in market research operations, custom panel management, or research data management, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing complex enterprise accounts.

  • Client Resilience & Agility: Proven success managing fast-paced, highly demanding enterprise technology clients with poise, diplomacy, and strong emotional intelligence under pressure.

  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated track record of introducing new research methodologies, panel features, or automated workflows that drive client engagement and business growth.

  • Technical Mastery: Deep familiarity with modern panel management platforms (Forsta/Confirmit, Qualtrics, Cint, or custom enterprise solutions) and business intelligence tools.

  • People Leadership: Outstanding track record of building, coaching, and retaining high-performing research operations teams.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Market Research, Business, Data Analytics, Quantitative Social Sciences, or related field (Master's preferred).

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
