Salesforce is looking for a Director or Senior Director, Sales Strategy to lead the Sales Strategy team for TMT and to act as a trusted advisor to leaders. The Sales Strategy team is a high-performance team chartered with assisting senior executives in driving the business forward and part of the COO office. Sales Strategy focuses on strategic planning, sales coverage, sales analytics and developing quick plans to address areas of weakness. The Sales Strategy leader will be expected to partner with many cross-functional teams such as finance, employee success and marketing, etc.
This person will be responsible for:
  • Strategy support for the TMT OU, The role will be a people leadership role within the Strategy organization, including team development functions. The role will be a people leadership role within the Strategy organization, including team development functions.
  • Partnering with the Senior Leadership to drive and track the business under a rigorous data-driven approach, interpreting KPIs and providing recommendations
  • Supporting the business operational model and cadence (forecast calls, business reviews, etc.)
  • Partnering closely with the leadership team in defining and implementing the right Go-to-market approach (Segmentation, Planning, Headcount Allocation, Quota Distribution).
  • The role is pivotal in drawing the insight from data and applying judgment and putting forward recommendations to support the growth and success of sales managers and key stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess very strong analytical skills, excellent people and stakeholder management skills, a strong work ethic, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze the health of the business by interpreting key performance metrics
  • Embed and own Sales operational governance and cadence
  • Build executive presentations, crafting the messages of Leadership
  • Develop and present recommendations to senior management for strategic decision making
  • Own and enhance data sources and data reporting to gain scale and address new requirements
  • Work cross-functionally to drive the execution of go-to-market strategies
  • Participate in key strategic projects and long-term transformational initiatives
  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and departmental heads
  • Review, design, and execute improvements to org structure find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them
  • Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • 10+ years of professional experience, ideally in consulting or sales strategy and operations roles in tech
  • Significant experience in a top consulting firm OR high tech company in a highly analytical role OR strategy department in a fast-paced growth company
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills: Demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, conduct data-driven analysis and come up with recommendations
  • Strong communication skills: translate results into easily digestible messages and executive presentations
  • Team Player: highly collaborative style with strong networking skills across business functions
  • Team management: lead by example and passionate about developing and nurturing talent
  • Agile and flexible way of working: the ability to adjust on the fly to new demands, comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and a good grasp of a sense of urgency
  • Strong work ethics: take pride in achieving excellence, high energy, autonomy, and resilience with a "Get it done" Attitude
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and complex cross functional projects
  • Courageous communicator: excel at bringing stakeholders along the journey and managing stakeholder expectations for efficient workload prioritization
  • Experience will be evaluated based on the skills you'll use every day for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

The typical base salary range for this position is $191,100 - $320,600 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $228,600 - $348,600 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
