Covia is looking for a dynamic Mobile Equipment Fleet Manager who will have a positive impact on the Operations team. This is a remote position that will be based out of a state that Covia currently operates in. As a Mobile Equipment Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for improving the overall cost and reliability of Covia's mobile equipment by partnering with Operations & Procurement and utilizing data from multiple sources to improve operating outcomes that meet Covia's production and safety guidelines. The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Actively monitor through ERP system and/or vendor software all maintenance activities on the mobile equipment fleet - repairs and preventive maintenance. Take appropriate action to correct noted deficiencies by working with Operations.
- Maintain and monitor oil analysis program for mobile equipment fleet. Based on results, make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Ensure proper maintenance is performed on each piece of equipment in a timely manner. Take action to correct as needed.
- Monitor all spending on mobile equipment fleet to identify and initiate opportunities for improvements.
- Work closely with Operations personnel to make recommendations on maintenance, major component replacement/upgrades, etc. for mobile equipment fleet.
- Work closely with Operations personnel to make recommendations on critical spare parts for mobile equipment fleet.
- Work closely with Operations personnel and Mine Planning to make recommendations for application of mobile equipment needed at the plant site based on mining activities.
- Monitor all analytics on Covia mobile equipment fleet utilization from telematics data - owned and leased. Take appropriate action and/or provide notification when adverse trends or deficiencies are identified. Implement technology to improve fleet productivity and health visibility and actions.
- Use insights from Data to improve safety and cost by providing safety/efficiency information to operations, monitoring fleet maintenance schedules, and recommending fleet cost optimization actions through maximizing equipment utilization.
- Work closely with Procurement Department making recommendations for new and replacement equipment purchases and/or leases, including size, make, model, timing, etc.
- Establish milestones and KPI's for the mobile equipment fleet and ensure tracking of execution i.e., availability, cost per operating hour, utilization, etc.
- Travel Requirements maximum 50%.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and interdependent departments as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- Vocational degree or higher required.
- Operational knowledge of large mining mobile equipment i.e., Front end Loaders, Excavators, Haul trucks rigid/articulated, Back hoes, Man-lifts, Forklifts.
- Maintenance knowledge of large mining mobile equipment.
- Application knowledge of industrial mineral mining with regards to mining techniques as applicable to heavy mobile equipment.
- Knowledge of mobile equipment vendor software.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and advocate, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated skill in maintaining a variety of maintenance records.
- Experience utilizing a variety of computer-based technologies including ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative, and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.
- Demonstrated skill in use of independent judgment.
