The Proposal Specialist supports Concentra's Proposal Development team's efforts to produce quality and compliant responses to Request for Proposals (RFP). Through partnership and collaboration with Concentra stakeholders, this position leads the proposal development process by analyzing requests for proposal (RFPs), effectively communicating proposal requirements to stakeholders, coordinating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information, assembling proposal documents, and ensuring submission compliance.
Responsibilities
This position supports most aspects of proposal development in support of new and expansion
business development efforts. Creates and produces formal responses to RFPs, quotes, and
information. Accountable for flawless execution, production, and on-time delivery of responses.
On assigned proposals:
- Analyze bid requirements and scope of work; identify and address red flags
- Conduct intake, prepare share drive folders and checklists
- Identify items that require immediate review and send to appropriate parties (i.e. legal, IT, etc.)
- Facilitate kick off meetings that define expectations
- Identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop and manage adherence to proposal schedule
- Complete forms
- Prepare, edit, and customize proposal draft using library responses
- Distribute drafts, manage, and integrate input from SMEs
- Finalize documents, proofread, complete style edits, ensure compliance to all RFP requirements
- Produce and deliver final product, hard or soft copies, as required
- Interact with various internal departments, including, but not limited to, legal, risk management,
sales/account management, operations, and medical, staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college/university
- In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
- Customarily has at least one or more years of experience in a proposal development or content writing position
- Experience with Loopio or similar proposal response software preferred
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and be thorough in critical follow-up
- General knowledge and familiarity with established standards, concepts, and practices related to
completion of business proposals - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
- Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy dealing with internal colleagues, regulatory agencies, vendors and all levels of executives and managers
- Keen proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Willingness to work hard and share in the success with the team
