Work
as a full-time Staff Research Associate in a cutting-edge thoracic oncology
research laboratory under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator, Dr.
Bryan Burt, that focuses on novel, high-impact solutions for the clinical
issues of patients with thoracic cancers. Projects in the lab include:
1)
determining actionable immunoproteogenomic determinants of the response and
resistance to immunotherapy in thoracic cancers,
2)
investigating a novel mass spectroscopy-based platform to improve the
intraoperative diagnosis and surgical margin assessment in lung cancer and
other thoracic malignancies, and
3)
the design of innovative biomedical and surgical devices to accelerate project
1 and 2 and to improve surgical care.
More
specifically, you will work with various investigators to identify and consent
research subjects and obtain tissue and other specimens on various studies. In
this role, you will responsible for the processing of these human specimens
according to established and approved protocols for downstream analysis by
various techniques (eg. genomics, proteomics, MS, spatial and single cell
transcriptomics) towards understanding the molecular, cellular, and genetic
events involved in the formation and progression of thoracic cancers.
Hourly Salary Range: $28.69- $34.21. Please note the department's target hourly pay
is $28.69.
This is a full-time, limited, 1-year appointment that may convert
to career.
