Company Description

Citizant is a leading provider of professional IT services to the U.S. government. We seek to address some of our country's most pressing challenges in the areas of Agile application development, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Architecture, and Program Management support services - focusing on the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security and Treasury. We strive to hire only ethical, talented, passionate, and committed "A Players" who already align with the company's core values: Drive, Excellence, Reputation, Responsibility, and a Better Future. No matter how large we grow, Citizant will retain its collaborative, supportive, small-company culture, where successful team effort to address external and internal customer challenges is valued above all individual contributions.

About the Role

We are seeking an Asset Manager to lead an enterprise IT asset and personal property management function in a regulated environment. This role ensures accurate inventory controls, proper safeguarding of sensitive equipment, and audit-ready accountability for government-owned/furnished property across the full lifecycle. You'll maintain authoritative asset records in approved systems of record, coordinate with a Property Accountable Officer (PAO), and partner across IT, acquisitions, finance, and vendors to support compliant procurement, distribution, refresh, and offboarding processes.

Location: Remote (with onsite support for inventories as required)

Key Responsibilities

Maintain Accurate Inventory & Property Records

  • Maintain and continuously update a comprehensive inventory of IT assets and personal property in approved systems of record (e.g., Sunflower / NBSC as applicable).
  • Ensure strong inventory controls and asset safeguarding in line with federal/departmental guidance and internal control expectations.

Partner with the Property Accountable Officer (PAO) & Strengthen Controls

  • Work with the PAO to define and document inventory processes, controls, and audit reconciliation procedures consistent with governing property guidance and organizational business needs.
  • Support a disciplined property management program focused on accurate records, asset control, protection of sensitive assets, and separation/transfer clearance processes where applicable.

Tag, Label, and Standardize Asset Data

  • Tag and label assets using approved identification methods (barcodes, physical tags, or electronic tags).
  • Ensure asset records include required data elements (as applicable), such as decal/serial number, manufacturer/model, accountable user, property location, accountable supervisor, cost/custodial coding (for manual additions), and deployment/maintenance information (warranty/lease terms).
  • Standardize asset descriptions using the approved property catalog and apply classification attributes such as FSC/OCC, life expectancy, and sensitivity flags as required.

Execute Physical Inventory Cycles & Reconciliation

  • Conduct pre-inventory activities and physical inventory in accordance with governing property guidance.
  • Support the established inventory cadence:
    • Physical inventory January-September, with monthly metrics delivered to the PAO
    • Annual reconciliation October 1-December 31
  • Reconcile overages, shortages, and discrepancies by December 31, providing weekly reporting to the PAO (e.g., shortage/overage, damaged/idle, double decal, survey items found, inventory items found, software license/installation reporting).

Support Procurement, Coordination, and Distribution

  • Support procurement by validating specifications, tracking orders, and ensuring accurate tagging and system entry for received assets.
  • Coordinate with acquisitions, finance, and vendor management to ensure procurement compliance and property accountability.
  • Facilitate controlled distribution supporting onboarding/offboarding, refresh cycles, off-cycle requests, and incident-driven replacements.
Requirements

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of federal property / IT asset controls experience.
  • Experience with systems of record (e.g., Sunflower/NBSC or similar) preferred.
  • Experience managing IT assets and/or personal property inventories, including tagging, lifecycle tracking, and systems-of-record updates.
  • Experience executing physical inventories and reconciling discrepancies with formal reporting and metrics.
  • Strong collaboration skills across property accountability, IT, acquisitions, finance, and vendors.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, IT, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).

Certifications

  • IT asset management or property management credentials (e.g., IAITAM)
  • CITAM

Security Requirements (Required)

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a Public Trust background investigation
