Job Summary:
The Project Engineer supports the execution of engineering projects by assisting in technical design, documentation, and validation activities. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role ensures that all project deliverables meet specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. The Junior Project Engineer helps bridge the gap between design and execution by providing hands-on support, participating in design reviews, and assisting with troubleshooting and testing efforts.
Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Job:
- Support the transition of projects from pre-sale to post-sale technical teams.
- Assist in authoring risk assessments and identifying potential project risks and countermeasures.
- Prepare and maintain engineering work orders based on defined project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design progress aligns with project goals and standards.
- Provide on-site and floor-level technical support during project execution.
- Assist in developing product design validation requirements and participate in testing activities.
- Contribute to design reviews and ensure compliance with company standards and customer expectations.
- Support preparation of technical presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2-4 years of experience in an engineering or equipment design environment preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of mechanical or systems design principles.
- Ability to learn and apply complex software tools for problem-solving and documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and follow direction from senior staff.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands/fingers to manipulate, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, and/or talk or hear. The employee must occasionally, stand, and/or walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and/or reach above shoulders. The employee must be able to travel approximately 20 - 25% on company business.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds while moving converting equipment components and subassemblies. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee occasionally works in proximity to moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, in proximity to fumes or airborne particles, and near sources of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be loud while working in a manufacturing environment.
