Accounting Intern

Job Summary:

The intern position is designed to be both educational and practical. The Accounting intern will directly assist the Accounting Team with a wide range of projects related to account reconciliation, credit card processes, inventory, variances, and costing.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Job:

Inventory Studies

• Safety Stock review and recommendations on findings
• WSTOCK review with findings going to engineering department
• Review fixed asset inventory and adjust accordingly

Credit Card Process Improvement

• Review credit card policies and contracts
• Review and add to credit card process and procedures

Inventory Standards and Job Costing

• Sets and rolls standard costs for manufactured and purchased parts
• Prepares project tracking reports that summarize material and labor costs for individual jobs

Shop Floor

• Reviews costed shop orders for proper material issuance and open purchase orders
• Prepares and analyzes variance reports on a weekly basis
• Closes and purges all completed shop orders

Job Requirements:

• Applicants should be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel and Word
• Requires mathematical skills that involve the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Requires good oral and written communication skills
• Collaborate with others (including in person) to proactively develop broad-based personal knowledge, skills, and abilities towards key JOA competencies.
