YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE
We are looking for a Recruiter in 401 N Michigan Ave, Suite 1400, Chicago, IL 60611 USA. Your mission will be to:
Recruit and select additional and replacement staff for both exempt and nonexempt positions from both external and internal sources. Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract, screen and select qualified applicants.
Main activities:
Assist supervisor in development of recruitment and selection strategies that match company goals and objectives.
Write and place employment advertisements in newspapers, on the Internet and other recruitment media.
Screen applicants to ensure applicants meet minimum requirements for opened positions.
Participate in job fairs and other professional recruiting events to attract applicants and promote and increase the company visibility in the marketplace.
Coordinate the internal interview process and solicit feedback from interview teams to support timely hiring decisions.
Conduct reference checks on applicants being considered for hired and prepare offer letters on applicants selected for employment. Provide direction and feedback to hiring managers on selection processes and effectiveness.
Participate in retention activities and projects.
Conduct exit interviews to identify and record information on why employees voluntarily leave the organization.
Complete and distribute status reports to appropriate human resources personnel and senior management staff on all opened positions.
Participate in the development of human resources administrative policies and procedures, particularly those in areas of recruitment.
Maintain and complete tracking data on applicants.
Attend outside workshops, seminars and classes that contribute to professional growth and development.
Support corporate quality and improvement process (TQM).
Perform other duties as needed.
YOUR PROFILE
Communication:
The position regularly interacts with company management staff of all levels to identify recruitment sources and needs, offer recommendations on candidates considered for open positions, and provide ideas for placing effective advertisements. The position frequently works with search firms,
headhunters and other related organizations to discuss and negotiate contracts. Communications with internal and external job candidates often takes tact and persuasion when determining job requirements and negotiating offers of employment. The position interacts with college and job fair personnel when
involved with offsite recruiting activities. The position interacts with accounts payable department personnel to provide accurate data on company recruitment expenditures.
Knowledge:
A general knowledge of equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws
3 plus years in a similar recruiting or talent acquisition/ generalist position
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good public speaking skills to effectively give presentations at job fairs meetings
Required skills:
Ability to understand the requirements of the role, and competencies needed for a candidate to succeed
Understanding of pipeline and candidate pools, with ability to find creative resources for candidates
Work Environment:
The position works in an office environment in which surroundings are generally comfortable. However, working in an opened area in which it is periodically exposed to surrounding noise, makes it difficult to communicate with job applicants or employees on the telephone or in the office. The usual work hours are 40 hours a week. Longer hours might be necessary when working on special projects or during a heavy recruiting period. The nature of the position's work requires periodic travel to job fairs and college campuses to recruit future candidates for employment and promote the company. The position also travels periodically to laboratories and other off-site company locations to meet with managers to discuss recruiting needs or meet with employees to administrate the employee opinion survey process. Periodically, the position may lift heavy boxes (up to 25 pounds) such as bulk employee records placed in storage. Manual dexterity is necessary to operate a computer.
Compensation:
Annual Salary $73,000 - $83,000 annual salary and benefits
