Position Overview
| Primary Purpose of Position |
The Property Security Supervisor works as a Patrol Sergeant who manages and directs employees in general security patrol work.
Knowledge of staff availability, skills and resources to designate assignments.
Establishes employee work expectations, reviews reports and assesses squad performance based on standards. |
| Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The primary purpose of the Police & Public Safety department is to support the University's core mission of teaching, research, and public service by providing comprehensive and professional public safety services as well as secure, convenient access to the NC A&T campus. The department protects and serves the University community by enforcing the laws of North Carolina, preserving and optimizing resources and by maintaining an environment that fosters education and community-orientated service. |

Sunday through Saturday nights, 12 hour shifts, 40 hours a week. Positions may require shift, weekend, and/or overtime work. |

- Meet with security counterparts and address security concerns in implementing contractual requirements.
- Prepare weekly reports and memorandums to the Security Manager on property damage, safety hazards, theft, and vandalism.
- Promote positive employee relations through meeting and developing a rapport with all internal & external University affiliates, addressing complaints, and resolving issues with Security Manager's guidance.
- Conduct security-related training sessions for employees regarding physical security topics to expand their awareness of security standards, policies and procedures.
- Conduct on-site physical security surveys/security risk assessment surveys at various residence halls, or as assigned, to make recommendations and ensure ongoing consistency with security standards (technology, procedures, lighting, CPTED, etc.).
