ROLE OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible to weigh trucks and assist with customer needs and monitor yard and asphalt plant functions.

The typical schedule is 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday. Saturday as needed. Hours and duties of this position will vary depending on customer demand and growth. Must be able to work fluctuating hours.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

An individual in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples DO NOT include all the tasks which the individual may be expected to perform.

1. Answer phones and work on two-way radio system.
2. Weighing/ticketing trucks in a timely manner.
3. Take customer orders, work with dispatch making sure customers receive correct material and tonnages.
4. Relay sales orders, messages, and information to or from sales team and other departments.
5. Communicate with dispatch, truck drivers and management about plant and traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards.
6. Record and maintain records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
7. Assist with daily cash sales and prepare overnight packages to other Knife River locations.
8. Prepare for next day's work orders and run daily billing reports.
9. Must be able to complete reports from the day's work of JWS, down time, cost tracking time keeping, safety committee minutes, required record keeping for M.S.H.A. etc.
10. Assist with cleaning scale house including the restrooms.
11. Assist quality control task while scale house is not busy.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

2. Knowledge of materials and ability to identify.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, high school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
2. Ability to use basic office equipment, including computer, scanner, copier and 10-key calculator.
3. Experience working at a quarry/aggregate plant is preferred.
4. Knowledge of APEX/JWS program is preferred.
5. Bilingual Spanish/English is a PLUS.
6. Valid driver's license preferred.

8. Ability to work at night under artificial lighting.
9. Ability to work in all weather conditions for an extended period.
