A Materials Manager job opportunity is open with our client Chantilly, VA. In this role you will lead the execution of logistical operations to include receiving, warehousing, and shipping. Perform a wide variety of tasks such as planning, scheduling, coordinating, and reporting of product movement in support of the manufacturing workflow. To be considered for this role you will have 7 years' experience in Logistics and 3 years of Logistics supervision.

Job Duties:
*Validating previous transactions for discrepancies and ensures internal specifications are met and traceability requirements are 100% accurate
*Overseeing receiving functions related to purchased parts and incoming supplies, and shipping of finished and semi-finished parts
* Managing and monitoring storage of purchased parts and finished goods
* Handling raw materials and finished materials in compliance with internal electrostatic discharge policies and procedures
* Issuing material to work orders; follows bill of material and work order routing
*Tracking material scrap; act or make recommendations to reduce or eliminate
* Assuring write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory
* Identifying opportunities to reduce materials and consumable costs and charges
*Implement and maintain inventory management monthly review process
*Updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements
* Researching and reconciling inventory anomalies
* Processing MRP transactions with accuracy and efficiency
* Execution and accuracy of daily cycle count and year-end inventory
* Following all company policies and procedures

Knowledge/Skills/Education/Experience
*Typically requires bachelor"s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, or equivalent work experience and/or education.
*Typically requires 7 years' experience in Logistics and 3 years of Logistics supervision.
* Problem-solving, analytical and organizational abilities.
* Experience with logistics and inventory management software.
* Experience with government contracting requirements related to inventory, shipping, and receiving.
Preferred Qualifications
*Experience with Domestic and International shipping.
*Experience with Trade compliance.
*Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
