Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here's how the Associate Scientist, Micro role will make an impact: Key responsibilities for this role include:
Follow GMP, GLP, USP/EP. Initiate, document, and perform microbiological analysis on received test samples. Ensure timely testing of chemical components, bulk products, finished products and special request items to support projected release dates. Recover and identify microbial isolates from test materials. Perform collection and testing of water, air, compressed air, and sanitized surfaces samples. Participate in and document MLA and PET stability studies. Assist in assay validation. Assist in antibiotic assays. Monitor lab supplies to effectively support lab operations. Ensure availability of general and specialized microbiological test media. Maintain lab stock cultures for evaluative testing and media quality control testing. Ensure timely and accurate calibration of scheduled lab equipment. Assist with technical reports on PET studies and assay validations. Provide assistance to non-exempt lab personnel and guidance to non-exempt in the absence of supervisor or designee. Participate in specification failure investigations, as directed. Occasional interface with sales & marketing, manufacturing, R&D, purchasing, and other departments. Conduct training sessions. Comply with company safety policies. Participate in repair and maintenance of lab equipment. Perform and document assigned special projects. Laboratory housekeeping. Accept assignment to an alternate shift when directed. Stability sample preparation and document in log. Comply with protocol direction. Controlled substance compliance. Within area of responsibility, understand and comply with all DPT safety, environmental and quality practices and procedures as outlined in organizational/departmental guidelines and SOPs as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Life Science from a four-year college or university is required. Microbiology is preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years of related experience with a Master's degree from a four-year college or university. Laboratory experience, Pharmaceutical industry experience is required.
