Regional Maintenance - Conveyor Specialist


Are you ready to take your maintenance expertise on the road and make a real difference? As a PCA Conveyor Specialist you'll play a critical role in driving throughput in our box plants by optimizing material handling lines (Conveyors, Unitizers, Shipping Departments). This is a hands-on position where you'll work side-by-side with OEMs and the plant on making operational observations as well as tweaking PLC parameters to improve the flow of product through the plants.


This position is required to make independent decisions based on sound practices and experience in optimizing these systems. This position is expected to work closely with the plant to make sure maintenance crews are trained and ensure that all equipment is maintained to operate at maximum capacity.

Principle Accountabilities



  • Serves as a liaison between all maintenance departments and OEMs.
  • Support maintenance supervisors and maintenance personnel in daily operations.
  • Provide expertise to maintenance personnel, and production team regarding equipment investment and/or usage.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of all equipment to assess equipment conditions and identify issues with the operation of all equipment, as needed.
  • Assist in continuous improvement of regional asset operations and maintenance program and strategy to lead implementation of any approved changes.
  • Liaise with Production and Maintenance personnel to coordinate third-party contractors providing direct maintenance support.
  • Ensure predictive and preventative maintenance services are scheduled in accordance with the accepted intervals and standards and the work is performed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in developing critical path plans for major equipment installations and shutdowns in a timely manner.


Position Requirements



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years' experience in PLC programming and conveyor optimization.
  • 10+ years' previous experience in equipment maintenance in corrugated manufacturing. Working knowledge of maintenance of corrugated and packaging equipment.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of containerboard operations and packaging industry.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to decisively act upon these
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming in Siemens and Rockwell.
  • Effective listening and reasoning skills. The ability to discern communicated information and act successfully.
  • Strong verbal and oral communication skills including the ability to proactively approach, speak, engage and build relationships with corporate management, internal and external customers, represent the company to local, state and federal government officials, and address diverse individuals, groups and organizations.
  • Working knowledge of standard business hardware and software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Capable of meeting objectives while traveling to various work locations.
  • Experience in developing and working on self-guided teams, team motivation, team conflicts and team success.
  • Success in developing programs and defining responsibilities in undefined territories for a company.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary and possess a valid U.S. driver's license.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS




  • Starting salary range for position: $108,500-$155,000
  • Bonus: Annual - Based upon individual contribution and overall, Company performance.
  • Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.

  • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
