What you will do-

The Maintenance Technician III plays a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and functionality of plant equipment and systems. Working with limited supervision, the Technician is expected to independently manage routine and complex maintenance tasks while demonstrating a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Effective communication with plant managers, operators, and technical staff is essential to accurately identify and resolve issues.

How will you do it-

General Maintenance Responsibilities:



  • Diagnose and complete unscheduled repairs on production and facilities equipment to support continuous operations.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
  • Work safely at all times, adhering to plant safety policies, procedures, and practices (e.g., PPE, LOTO, permits).
  • Read and apply technical information including wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
  • Interface regularly with operations staff to assess and respond to maintenance concerns.
  • Participate in small projects and equipment upgrades with a focus on maintainability and reliability.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas and maintenance shops.
  • Attend maintenance team meetings and respond to communications in a timely manner.


Major Electrical Duties:



  • Set up, calibrate, test, and repair control systems and instruments (pneumatic, electrical, electronic).
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480VAC.
  • Support DCS systems in partnership with process control engineers (troubleshooting, optimizing, programming).
  • Maintain and repair fluid systems, including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and piping.


Major Mechanical Duties:



  • Perform pipefitting (threaded, welded, tubing), welding, and fabrication tasks.
  • Set and align industrial equipment and rotating machinery.
  • Rebuild, replace, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, and other mechanical components.
  • Troubleshoot material handling equipment (conveyors, roll-to-roll systems).
  • Service HVAC and air-handling systems (fans, dampers, etc.).


Equipment Maintenance & Repair:



  • Diagnose and execute unscheduled repairs on production and facilities equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.


Technical Proficiency:



  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical manuals.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including systems up to 480VAC.


Safety Compliance:



  • Consistently follow plant safety procedures and policies (including PPE use, Lockout/Tagout, and safe work permits).
  • Demonstrate proper use of safety protocols during all maintenance tasks.


Project & Reliability Support:



  • Participate in small project teams to improve equipment reliability and operational uptime.


Communication & Collaboration:



  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and other plant staff regarding maintenance issues and solutions.
  • Attend maintenance meetings and maintain consistent communication through email or plant systems.


Electrical & Instrumentation Duties:



  • Calibrate, test, and repair control systems and instruments.
  • Assist in programming, optimizing, and troubleshooting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) with engineering staff.


Mechanical Duties:



  • Perform pipefitting, welding, and fabrication tasks.
  • Rebuild and repair rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Service HVAC and air handling systems.


Workplace Organization & Training:



  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Willingness to train or mentor junior technicians or peers in specialized maintenance tasks.



Why you are right for the job-



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial maintenance role.
  • Certification or apprenticeship in Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, or HVAC strongly preferred.
  • S. Degree in a technical discipline, military technical experience, or equivalent industrial work experience.
  • Adequate understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient understanding of LOTO procedures, troubleshooting, and P&ID interpretation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Willingness to mentor and share knowledge with junior technicians.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Computer literate with ability to learn facility-specific software and documentation tools.
  • Full-time; Night shift . Must be available for overtime, call-ins, or emergency support as necessary.



What to expect-

Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of 50-75 lbs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Frequent assisted pushing/pulling of 75-100 lbs.
  • Standing/Walking: Required throughout most of the shift.
  • Work may include exposure to chemicals, heat, heights, and confined spaces; proper safety measures are mandatory.
  • Capable of operating a forklift, blue lift, rise lift (training available if needed)
