Position Purpose The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in driving successful delivery of Strategic and Technology initiatives by acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams. This role is anchored on two core capabilities:
- Partnering with business leaders to understand problems, evaluate options, and articulate clear business cases.
- Translating those needs into welldefined business and functional requirements that enable predictable, highquality delivery.
The Senior Business Analyst operates as a senior individual contributor, partnering with all businesses across the organization. The Senior Business Analyst will be owning complex problem spaces, working independently with stakeholders, and supporting initiatives that span technology, data, process, and analytics. Position Responsibilities Business Partnership & Business Case Development
- Partner closely with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand business objectives, pain points, risks, and opportunities.
- Facilitate discovery conversations to clarify problems, define desired outcomes, and evaluate solution options.
- Develop and articulate clear, structured business cases, including problem statements, scope, assumptions, benefits, risks, budget and success metrics.
- Support prioritization decisions by helping stakeholders understand tradeoffs, value, and delivery implications.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business partners throughout the lifecycle of initiatives.
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Lead endtoend requirements activities for complex initiatives, from discovery through delivery.
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate: Business requirements, Functional and nonfunctional requirements, Process flows and current/future state definitions, Data and reporting requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear, consumable artifacts (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements documents) that engineering and delivery teams can execute against.
- Ensure requirements are traceable to business objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Manage scope and requirement changes, partnering with stakeholders to assess impact and make informed decisions.
Delivery & CrossFunctional Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers, project managers, engineers, data teams, and QA to support successful execution.
- Serve as the primary point of clarity for business intent throughout delivery.
- Participate in delivery checkpoints and agile ceremonies as needed to ensure alignment.
- Proactively identify gaps, risks, or ambiguities and drive resolution.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree required in a related field, or the equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
- Desired - Master's degree or related field, or the equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
- Certified in one or more of the following: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA), Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA)
- Desired - knowledge of or experience in lending and credit cards
- Desired - experience in using audit software
- Minimum 5+ years of audit experience, preferably related to financial institutions, public accounting auditor or consultant
- Must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all situations
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Familiarity with all banking regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, OFAC, RESPA, and Fair Lending
- Strong analytical skills to review data, interpret results, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail, high sense of urgency and ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Expert skills in conducting audit interviews, communicating in an objective manner
- Expert in research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expert organizational, planning and time management skills to manage priorities independently or in a team environment
- Skilled in working with software, databases, presentation software, word processing, spreadsheet software
- Expert skills in presenting findings, conclusions, and information clearly and concisely in written or verbal communications
Other Ability to travel within a defined market area. Compensation
- Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.
- We are hiring in: MD, DC, VA, PA, DE, NC, SC, FL, IN, IL. Candidates in other locations will receive the pay range tied to their specific area.
- Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.
Working Arrangements
- This is a hybrid role. (highly qualified candidates may be eligible for a 100% remote working arrangement)
